DESCRIPTION:The legendary Swedish event – Website: \n\n\n\nWell screw that whole pandemic\, I say. We’re back\, a couple of years late\, to finally host the 13th annual n00bcon. A few things have changed since last. We are all older and wiser now for one. And – perhaps in particular – n00bcon is no longer the World Championship for Oldschool Magic. That Shark has swimmed (swam?) all the way down to Genoa\, Italy\, to be awarded during winc0n in September. So there are no qualification tournaments or things like that which we saw in older days to scramble for the invites. Instead\, n00bcon is now mainly a gathering of old fools\, friends\, and familiar names in the community. I kinda guess it was like that before as well. The main thing now is that participation is somehow even more based on nepotism than before. If you’d like to join\, the easiest way these days is to be a friendly dude with a solid track record in the community.Even though we’re scaling down a bit and the winner wont get to call themselves World Champion\, I presume the tournament will still be brag-worthy. The winner will get a pack-fresh Giant Shark and all that\, and at least they can call themselves n00bcon champion. So bring your A-game fools! SUMMARY:Old School Magic UK Cup 2021
DESCRIPTION:This year will see the first annual Old School Magic Team UK Cup. Held on the 20th November it will be held in London\, hosted by Rule Zero in partnership Jason Savage. \n\n\n\nTickets can be bought from our website here: https://www.rulezero.co.uk/product/old-school-magic-uk-cup-20-11-2021/ \n\n\n\nTeams of three players from all over the UK and further afield play off against each other for a multitude of prizes including the UK Cup Trophy\, using Old School decks constructed using the old “unified deck construction rules”.These rules state that between a teams decks\, basic lands aside\, no more than 4 of each card can be used across the decks and sideboards. For restricted cards\, only 1 of each can be used per team.To put this another way\, if you stacked all the decks of a team on top of each other they would still have to make a legal deck. \n\n\n\n– 1pm Start– Swiss pairings\, best of 3– Randomised seating for the matches– Cut to Top 4 \n\n\n\nPlayers will be allowed to communicate and help one another within their team as games are in progress however\, this must be done in a timely fashion so that it does not hold up the pace of play. We will have a judge present to allow us to play at what will approximately be a Competitive REL\, though the event will not be sanctioned and there will likely be a large amount of alcohol consumed\, so this will be a little more lax than normal. Put simply you will be held accountable for your gameplay and expected to play tightly but any penalties will not be enforced unless absolutely necessary. Decklists will also be required in photographic form\, emailed either before or after the event. \n\n\n\nPrizes will be distributed throughout the event for a variety of reasons which will not be announced until they are given out. There will also be prizes for the Top 4 teams at least\, as well as a participation card for all players. \n\n\n\n£30 per team.Tickets available through the Rule Zero website. As this is an open UK team event\, teams are welcome from everywhere\, there may even be a prize for the best/ funniest team name. If you are unable to find a full team\, please message us\, as there may be other players looking for a team that we can help team you up with. \n\n\n\nCard Legality:Any non-foil old-card-frame cards with original art that appear in the base sets (Alpha\, Beta\, Unlimited\, Arabian Nights\, Antiquities\, Legends and The Dark) are available to be played. Card reprints (City of Brass for example) in Modern-frame sets\, or with a different artwork (like 5th Edition etc) are not allowed. This includes basic lands. Only reprints with original art and card frame are permitted (with the exception of Plateau and Serendib Efreet from Revised). A very fine hotel within walking distance is the Post Plaza Hotel. \n\n\n\nINTERNATIONAL FRIENDSIf you are coming by plane: Amsterdam Schiphol is at a 1\,5h drive from Leeuwarden.There’s also a smaller airport at Groningen less then a hour drive from Leeuwarden. Viel zu lange! Am Dienstag den 26. Oktober 2021 geht die Hanseatic Oldschool Serie in die elfte Runde. Erstmalig in den Räumen des Hamburger Magicbuden. Gespielt wird wie bisher nach dem Atlantic Rulset mit bis zu 9 Proxies. Wer das Atlantic Rulset nicht kennt kann sich hier darüber informieren: https://sentineloldschoolmtg.wordpress.com/atlantic-93-94/ Die Startgebühr beträgt 10€. Jeder Teilnehmer darf sich dafür am Ende des Turniers je nach Platzierung eine Oldschool legale Karte aussuchen. Für den Erstplatzierten gibt es einen Pokal\, sowie einen Eventpin und ein Freigetränk für jeden Teilnehmer. Aufgrund der aktuellen Corona Vorschriften sind maximal 30 Teilnehmer erlaubt. Deshalb informiert uns bitte Vorab\, dass ihr kommt und denkt beim Turnier daran euren Nachweis mitzubringen. Wir freuen uns darauf euch nach so langer Zeit endlich wieder zu sehen!
